Hi,

I've got a Punto 55s 1995 N and recently had a new clutch fitted (About 2 months ago). Since i got it back i have noticed it is leaking oil a lot more, and it seems to be slipping. Every now and then when i accelerate i get no response for a couple of seconds and then it begins to accelerate. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it likely that my new clutch is duff?

Also, i have a problem with my heater. It is not blowing out hot air. When it is meant to blow hot, it just blows out fishy smelling cool air. I guess this is the coolant from the radiator, but anyone know the cause. Broken heater matrix? Blown head gasket?

Any help would be greatful.

Thanks

Mark

Heater not working is usually the thermostat but it sounds like your heater matrix is shot. Do you need to keep topping up the oil? If not then it's not the engine oil, could be gearbox oil.
Either way, take it back to where you had the clutch fitted and get them to sort it.
I had what I thought was an oil leak on my old Bravo years ago and it turned out to be a coolant leak that was running over the engine, cleaning off the grease and oil and dripping it onto the drive.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Yes, I have been topping it up with oil. Is it possible i have an air lock in the system? If it were an air lock, do you have any idea how much it would cost for a mechanic to bleed the system?

Cheers

Yep, very possible to have an air lock in the cooling system. Depends where you take it to be bled as to the cost at a mechanics, shouldn't be too expensive. It's not a difficult job, just needs 2 people to be easier.
