The Mrs's Punto is doing something strange. If you are going along say the Motorway doing 70 in 5th, all seems fine but then all of a suddel it looses power for a second then carrys on the best way to describe it is, when you are doing that speed and you suddenly take your foot off the acelerator and you feel that loss almost judder. But my foot had not moved at all. Any one got any suggestions on that. I had a starting problem that seems to be fixed now I replaced the plugs and leads. Any help would be great.

Anyone know where I can buy a socket desined for shifting my car's Lambda? My 55SX's sensor is shafted but it's impossible to apply any torque to it as no spanner or socket I've tried will get into it and grip.

Oh, and wcavanagh, the sensor is the small round metal bit with wires going into it that screws into the exhaust downpipe :)

You can buy the Proper socket from most decent tool suppliers, Draper have one listed in their catologue.
(You can't use an ordinary socket due to the attached wires)
You might have a few problems removing it from the Downpipe (they can seize) but if your lucky it will be ok.
Make sure you've got the right Sensor for the car and not one of the universal ones where you have to 'splice the wires'
(you can get'switching'problems with these)
Perksy.

I cant get the thing off at all, there is not much room to work as the radiator gets in the way, I have a large adjustable and I could not move it at all. Any Ideas?

Sometimes easier to shift with exhaust warm...
The proper socket isn't that expensive and you might end up damaging the New Sensor if you use a big adjustable, or end up taking the skin off a couple of fingers..:(:(

Well I got it, Up on ramps, get it nice and warm, adjustable spanner, and a quick shot sharp twonk with a hammer and she was loose. New Sensor installed, 10 mile run down the motorway, as I reset the ECU aswell. The Mrs even says the acceleration has improoved loads, and not once did it loose power. So fingers crossed that it was £40 well spent :) Thanks for all your help.

PS
The old sensor was all gummed up with carbon, the holes were blocked so it cant have been reading much.
