Technical punto 55 mk 1

Hi all punto luvers

my 55 is running badly
please help
runs ok until warm then just loses all power when you accelarate
the only way i can pull of is to use second gear and put my foot down.
When doing 40ish it seems do lose power and then returns if i keep the same position on gas pedal
what tis it?
desperate for help

If water levels are ok and no brownish in the water or white mayo on dipstick or oil cap i couldint see it being the headgasket could maybe be a sensor..

does the engine sound like its going faster than the car? if so tis clutch

If it was the clutch would it work untill the car got warm..

Sounds as though the fuel pump is dropping off after its been running for a bit.

My punto 55S goes nowhere in 1st gear, when pulling off from standing I get about 5 yards out of my 1st gear before the revs hit the roof. Seems a bit too little acceleration for it just to be the small engine size.
I know 1st gear isn't supposed to take you far but mine goes hardly anywhere.

Is this a similar problem??

Ok but what exactly is going wrong? "It is the clutch" is quite a general thing.

you mean like when you turn the key you just hear a whirring sound? then it goes fine on the 2nd try?

Mine and my mates MK1's both do that, is it a common problem?
