Technical punto 1.2 8v hesitation/slight miss

Hi all,im new here but have been reading posts here a while,good site!
any way,i have a problem that im hoping someone may be able to shed some light on if poss?
i have a 2001 1.2 8v punto that sometimes smells of petrol at the rear(poss from the exhaust,unburnt fuel),but it also has a slight misfire or hesitation when i accelerate and its irritating the life out of me!
so far i have changed the following parts,
both coils
ht leads
spark plugs(twice)
lambda pre cat sensor
oil and filter
air filter
crank position sensor.
its not using any oil or water and always(so far) starts 1st time and i think the head gasket is fine.
its a nice car and only done 53k and i dont really want to have to get rid,so,if anyone has had the same fault or faults,please let me know.

sorry,forgot to say,no eml light on and still doing around 48mpg

Try and clean your throttle body as explained in the guides, that sould help the misfire. Also check the breather pipe under the air filter for splits and sealing, replace with one from a scrappy. That could help with the fuel smell especially if it comes through the vents.

I have cleaned the throttle body with carb cleaner,but will check the breather. Thanks for the advice

Well,the breather seems ok.anyone think it could be the map sensor?

I'd have a compression test done..tbh.
