well because ur psp can plug into the pc with the connecting cable
you can go on torrent websites and download the games as a .rar file then extract it and just bosh it over and it loads up easy as lol

what do the custom firmwares do then? will i still be able to use homebrew?

Unzip the files MPHDowngrader.zip and EBOOT_1.50.zip. Use a program such as WinRAR, or WinZip. These files are the ones that shall be instrumental in hacking this hardware.

where is the best place to get these files? 10 points for the person who tells me the virus free location and a lump of crap sent in a jiffy bag direct to the home of someone who brakes my psp.

They give you all the features of the latest official Sony firmware (sometimes extras) - but still allow you to play homebrew and downloaded ISOs.
