Mintex are nice, EBC better IMHO - but more expensive :(

Not a bad price for the front wishbones that, not bad at all (y)

That's what I thought - so they'll be getting bought today and I still reckon doing both sides (bearing in mind access for brakes/CVs/Droplinks will also be required) is the way forward!

Let the fun begin (y)

Lower arms have been sent out...cv's hopefully to follow soon!

Brakes will be obtained this week - the handbrake is now completely gone, I pulled the lever at work earlier out of habbit and it could just about hit the roof. It I cant see any sign of the cable trailing on the ground though so not entirely sure its snapped or is maybe just dislodged/disconnected? Will get a better look tomorrow in daylight!

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiight

N/S driveshaft turned up today - I had a **** day yesterday and it turned out I didnt order both, but I got a good deal and the O/S one is still at Overton so result. I also have a handbrake sensor to fit too.

So the plan for next week, up to Peterhead for the mechanic (hopefully) to do the lower arms and CVs, then back down the road to change front brakes and do a service. Also gonna fix the horn and sunroof leak/blockage.

Basically, next week it's a case of do my tax return and then fix the Bravo :)

Expect many, many updates soon :)

Gives us a shout when your doing your service :)
I still need to do mine, so I can watch and learn then i'll give mine a pop too :p

Well, project Bravo's suffered a major setback today.

Was just about to take the car to Greigs to perform a joint service on the HGT and Alfa...til I realised one of the neighbours has reversed into the front n/s of the car.

From a quick inspection I can see that the wing, bumper and bonnet have had it. The wing really is a mess. Pics will follow, no doubt. The light has been pushed back I think, so quite possibly there's structural damage. Im just trying to calm down before I go knock on the guys door...the one saving grace is it was one of mums neighbours that did it.

Still, truly gutted! :(

Sake :(

Hope the bugger pays for the damage. Did they even leave a note or something?

Its alright Martyn "that will just push out and the light will slide back into place" I think she should open her own garage :nutter: but on a serious note I hope they fix it up for you quickly :D

Yeh. It is a consolation I guess that he knocked on my mums door to say what had happened. Im sure my mum told me he'd 'scuffed it' though

Not sure they're going to pop out. Im actually worried that due to the damage (new bonnet, new wing and CERTAINLY a full bumper respray) the HGT may have had its days!

Anyway, heres the damage

Even with the bonnet shut (which it is in all these pics) it doesnt sit right. Really, it doesnt look so bad from these angles but it looks a lot worse to look at!

:(

Looks very similar to the damage I did to my Punto via a pillar in the Braehead multi-storey car park. Managed to get it repaired at the time for £200 including a new headlight - wasn't done brilliantly but was passable. Bonnet wasn't affected though, so cost will obviously be more for yourself and I used a back alley body repair place - dealer quoted £800 odd and another body shop quoted £550 to use all new parts and the like. Guessing that's more accurate for the Bravo, but this was 4-5 years ago :(

Jesus, thats more than a scuff!!!

An insursnce approved bodyshop will charge an arm and a leg for that to be repaired

there doesnt look like there is anything structural wrong, but recently in the show ive heard of quite a few cars being deemed past economic repair with a cracked bumper! :(

its the labour time for repairs thats the killer tbh, that seems to be the clincher as to what they deem cost effective. Looking at that, its going to come down to wether or not any of the front panel or bumper supports need pulled or replaced.

The damage seems high up, so supports should be fine, panel looks ok too, i reckon the insurance will just deem that repairable imo... Providing they dont insist on replacing not needed parts.

imo, its going to be a cat d, easily repaiable, but expensive, had to laugh at the blokes daughter trying to say the bodyshop will just pull it out and the light was OK!!!!
