Problem with Grande punto 2007 please help.

Hello, my car won't start. the warning light that shows a car with a padlock through the windscreen has come up... is this an immobiliser problem? if so what can I do to rectify the situation... the car is turning over but won't start.

Yep sounds like an immobiliser problem, cheap trick is to try a squirt of silicon lube into the ignition barrel, worked for me on one occasion. Have you got a spare key to try? If not you may need dealer help.

I bought it second hand and it only came with the one key.. thanks for the advice, my father seems to think I can reset the immobiliser somehow? if I can't i'll try the silicone.
