I just won a punto cylinder head extension (cam housing), as mine is dirty, old, has a cut engine mount (that cam e on the bravo engine). It was only £5 and is brand new, so I'm going to swap it over.

I think to look very neat, I could get it powder coated, after seeing paulfb's coated rocker cover on his sei.

Do you think its possible to powder coat such an item, without damage from the baking etc.

Anyone done this before and got a guide on price etc?

Cheers for any input,

Kristian

The body is black, pipework and samco is black, HT leads are Blue magnecore.

wheels are white so i was thinking it would look nice in white, but; a) could i keep it clean b) would the dirt ingrain really quick?

I'm just thinking plain black or a dark rich blue, a paint the 12ish hex caps a nice contrasting white.

I don't want to get the choice wrong though, the change means new gaskets, cam oil seals, timing belt off, so not a quick and easy job lol. Especially in my tight fit bay ;)

@ Dave - I though chromed would be nice, no way to polish that "polystyrene" metal up shiny, but could you do it? It'd have to be dipped, and there are lots of threads and close torelance parts internally, the cam guides etc.

It was a one off old stock to clear I'm afraid :(

Have my manky, scratched old one if you like though :D

....does it get very dirty? And does it take much effort to clean?

Kristian

Ummm, well I've never cleaned it:eek: It dosn't seem to get too dirty and hammerite is relatively wipe clean. Its not the smartest job because I didn't realy prep it:rolleyes: cheers Damon
