General Possible electrical fault with air conditioning.

I've been informed that I need a new air conditioning condenser, but I'm concerned that the condenser will be replaced and the electrical fault will mean the air con will still not work.

The air conditioning light used to light up when pressed but this isn't working. Does anyone know what electrical issues may be causing this problem.

I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and may be able to help.

My car is a 2011 fiat punto evo.
