General Ported and Flowed

Anyone know anywhere in the Milton Keynes area where i can get a head of a cinq ported and flowed.
Also what would a ball park figure for this be?

I dunno of a place, but GSR sell them for about 250 quid ready done. According to them tho, the car needs a remap afterwards

Port n flow is ok, but tripple cut valves are the most beneficial mod on a head.
Full head work averages at 550 quid.

in laymans terms,

It smooths the air flow into the chamber.

smoother air flow = better performance

Tripple cut valve seats increases the amount of fuel/air mix that can enter the chamber by quite alot. It's a bit like having bigger valves in but more efficient.

Cutting the valve seat is different to an angle grind on the valve itself.

But yes, cutting the vlave seat right on the edge of the valve increases performance as you said by increase valve size, but decreases realiability. In one of my race cars, we had to re lap the valves every 3000-4000 miles with this.

The valve angle grid job smooths the transition of the flow of air from the intake to the combustion chamber, by smoothing the transition from the valve stem to the face. imagine it like a slide. the smoother the slide, the more curvature the faster you will go compared to a rough slide.

I have had a 7 angle grind done before, unless you are going for silly hp, then details like this can be overlooked, a 3 angle is a good option.

For longevity you can have wear resistant hard alloy valve inserts fitted.

yeah i dont like harly's either, but the principle of the porting/polished is still the same though.
