[RANT] Well Pi**ed off went out just for a quiet drive last night got to a road that goes past McDonalds etc..... local boy racer hang out and some arse in a brand new Espace goes flying past me at bout 65 in a 30. Tw*t! Then for some reason this arse slows down to around 35 so i just sat a reasonable distance behind him.

The next thing I see, blue lights behind so i pull out of the way thinking that they're gonna pull this guy.......... ohhh no that'd mean that they can do they're job properly.... The police actually pull me over, when i dare to sugest about the other car the coppers imediately rattle something off about section 59 and how i'm a boy racer!!!

Just to make things even better the kind police woman gave me a piece of paper... a producer!

What little respect i did have for the police has now disappeared! [/RANT]

ummm if you were doing 35, they could've given you a ticket for that, be glad its just a producer buddy, its how these things go im afraid :( (but on the plus side producers dont go on record, ive had 4 i think lol )

Edit: and one of the 4 producers was for my friend doing something stupid not me, they just gave me a producer cause i was with him, great :(

They can give u a producer without reason. Could just stop you and give u a producer.

If you asked them why they'd just say that they want to check you've got the correct documents etc.

They're handed out like sweets around Lichfield.

Cos they like to show who's boss and stop peple going out and make them stay in their homes.

Soz still narked with them!
Ah well trip to the station in a minute though.

because when he got pulled over for it (he went on pavement across market type car park), his gf was in my car at the time and she freaked out so i parked up and walked round to where my m8 had turned off and walked up the road a bit, then no sign of him went back to my car and copper was checking out the car :( and got producer for "dumping the vehicle" (even though he'd left the vehicle by the time i got back to it, he pulled me over soon after when i was just heading off home for the night)

I live in manchester, and have had my licience for bout 4 months.

Bout a month after passing my test a copper pulled me and asked to see my documents. i asked why? The copper then went back to his car spoke to his mate, walked back over to me and said " My colegue(sp?) doesn't think you look old enough to drive." i didn't have my documents (licience/insurance/mot/log book) on me but did have my passport. i showed him i was old enough to drive and that was that, i went on my way, no producer or anything.

Well you should try to keep at least copies of those details with you whilst driving, especially now with the photocard license. If you had valid insurance cert/license and TAX to show them on the spot it wouldn't be a problem.

I would rather the police pull people over just in case than have more insured, untaxed and MOT'd cars on the road, if i had been pulled I would be happy they were doing their job properly.

What about the inconvinience of stopping you and then making you wait 15mins - 30mins to give you a producer?

As said above, I would rather than that have the risk of more uninsured/untaxed/un-MOT'd/unlicensed drivers on the road, 15-30 mins for safer roads? Any day.

However, if you simply carry those details with you with I do believe you're advised to do, you wouldn't need a producer but just 2 mins to show them you're legit.

It's the one of the main jobs that traffic police have to do; make sure cars on the road aren't breaking any rules and are staying safe.

Depends on the actual situation, car flies past at 65mph then drops to 35mph, you catch up, i.e. must have been doing over 35 to catch up, then are pulled. The police didn't see first car but saw you doing over 35 towards the espace, who do they pull?

They aren't all seeing and knowing, if the above is as it was then they were doing their job right surely?

lol, consider yourself told J..... At least it gives you something to talk about, it's not like it was serious!!!

Erm, explain to me how we know the police had been following the espace for miles? We don't know do we. For all we know, the espace over took the cinq a mile back, the cinq caught up as the espace slowed down, the espace was doing 35 and the cinq 37 catching up as they pass the parked police car who then follows.....you get my point?

You can't assume the police were all seeing and knowing and that they saw the 65mph espace just because it was big?!(although how you know they were doing 65mph exactly is beyond me :p)
