I have a 2014 Pro Master with a 3.0 Eco Diesel by Fiat. It has 150,000 miles on it and will not shut off when I turn the key. All the dash panel board lights go out But the engine will not shut down. Is the shutoff solenoid on a 3.0 separate from the high pressure fuel pump or is it built into it and can it be replaced. Is the HPFP pressure regulator and Engine shut off the same thing? If there is a separate shutoff solenoid Where is it located please?

Only guessing re your model, but if there are two solenoids/sensors on your high pressure pump then one should be the shut off.
This may stop it , but not be the problem, if you see what I mean.:(

It is a common rail diesel engine so doesn't have a stop solenoid .

You need a good mechanic familiar with modern vans.

Very unusual fault.

Has someone messed with the ignition switch?

Given your location, and recent weather events, is there any possibility that salt water or spray has entered the engine bay? Water ingress can cause havoc, and salt water........
In a common rail engine the fuel injection is electronically controlled, so as previously stated no stop solenoid. A particular possibvility is abbrasion of the wiring harness near the air filter. (See photo, credit to @Reg 65.) If salt spray was coupled with similar abbrasion damage then there is the possibility that the ECU may not shut down when the ignition is turned off.

No, you were sitting for one month. Had 2 jumped start but nothing out of the ordinary

Was the battery totally dead before jump start? That could have caused the problem

There is a procedure that Must be followed before disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. Do not have key anywhere near ignition when doing anything to battery or even connecting jump leads

pray that jump starting has not damaged any of the computers in the vehicle.
Read in the hand book the correct proceedure for battery disconnect/ reconnect. Fit a new battery.

The engine is stopped by the engine ecu stopping opening the fuel injectors

Engine may stop if you pull the fuse for the electric fuel pump that is inside the fuel tank
Or unplug the electrical connector to the combined pump and level gauge at the fuel tank

Sorry I didn't mean the old fashioned stop solenoid, such as on the earlier 2.8 Sofim engines with pre common rail Bosch pumps.
For example on the Siemens common rail pump on 2.0 litre Scudo there are two bits of electronics, one being a fuel pressure regulator and another which I believe is more of a flow valve, both controlled via the ECU. On the injector pump below the hole on the right is where this fuel pressure regulator screws in and as can be seen the other control unit is on the top left.
Having looked at the 3.0 engine I see it uses a different system altogether like last photo, so I need to go back to school.;)

I was hoping to have some kind of idea of what's going wrong before I just take it to a dealer. This is our recent build and we love our van hope to get it back on the road. It still will not shut off. I can shut it down by stomping on the fuel and choking it out. There has been no new work to the van recently besides jumping the battery. Since the ecu shuts the motor down by discontinuing the signal to the injectors, would that point to a faulty ECU? Thanks Again

See post number 10

After doing what is suggested in post number 10 there are no simple answers .
Modern vehicles have very complex interconnected systems.

Wishing you very good luck.

Please let us know how you get on and what the eventual fix is.

Hi again I have a 2014 3.0 Conversion I love

Remember My van will not shut off even when I take the key out. It will start and it runs good but when you go to shut it off nothing happens all the dashboard panels lights are out, it just won't stop running.

1. Engine won't switch off normal, Built you turn the key from off to on very slightly as if turning on, the engine shuts down.

3. There is a battery draw when the key is off or when the key in the half- on position that stop the motor.

4. Several relays under the hood and other things our clicking all at the same time on and off with no steady pattern when the key is off
or in the half position.

5 Disconnected all non factory wiring.

Maybe ???
