After waiting a YEAR for Fiat to cure the piston slap in my 53 reg Sporting (diagnosed with piston slap in Dec 2003, three weeks after buying new) I finally thought it was to be resolved

BUT !!!

My car went into the garage on 14th December 2003 and I was told I would get it back on 24th Decmber all fixed.

WRONG !!!

Contacted the garage on the 23rd Dec and was told that they were waiting for Fiat UK to tell them what to do.

Phoned again on Wed 29th Dec and still no info.

Phoned again on Wed 5th Jan 2005 and was told it will be ready early in the next week, but for some reason they can't tell me what has been done.

Early the next week and no contact from the garage so again I phoned them on Thur 13th Jan in the morning and was told that it was all done and that they would be doing final tests on it after dinner and that they would ring me in the afternoon to go and collect it.

Yes, you've guessed it, NO CONTACT AGAIN.

Phoned again on Friday 14th Jan but again no info on what has been done and when I can collect it.

They have now had my car for 20 working days.

I COULD HAVE MINED THE MATERIALS OUT OF THE GROUND, REFINED THEM, CAST THEM AND MACHINED THEM IN THE TIME FIAT HAVE TAKEN.

If Fiat Manufacturing are having financial problems then it is no wonder as with this level of customer service then they will never keep their customer base and I for one will never buy or even recommend another Fiat car to anyone.

BTW. I contacted Fiat UK Head Office about this and all they said was phone the garage.

SOME HELP THEY WERE ???

Oh.....that sounds like **** to me! Thats a pity.....because I have the opposite service at my Fiat repair shop. The are extremely friendly, and they are working really fast. But maby it´s because I live in Sweden, Fiat isn´t very common here!
