Hi all just found this forum and joined as I have had Ducato based motorhome she for several years now.
I currently have a Ducato (2017 model year, registered 2018) with an A class motorhome body and the sat nav is not functioning correctly.
You can put a route in and it will accept it but as soon as you drive it does not recognise where you are. As soon as you arrive at your destination it then recognises where you are exactly. I have been told it is probably because the speed sensor is not functioning/connected.
The unit is a Pioneer F9880BT, not DAB.
Any help appreciated.

The speed input for a Satnav is only a refinement to help in tunnels and heavily built-up areas, it should work fine 99% of the time without it. Check that the Pioneer actually has a speed input connection, and that it doesn't need to be programmed to know if one isn't available.

The GPS antenna normally needs a small amount of DC power for its built-in amplifier. Check that it is actually getting power when needed, which will be either by a dedicated wire or by sharing the inner core of its coax with the radio signals. The Pioneer might need to be programmed to supply this power from its antenna connector if the sharing arrangement is used.

Satnavs find position more easily if they are stationary, so if they lose "lock" when moving it may be a symptom of poor satellite reception for some reason.
