Seicento mpi head removal

In the middle of removing the head, does the position of the phonic wheel need to stay the same?

Re: Seicento mpi head removal

Head removed and we have the culprit for the misfire and low compression.
Anyone know where I can get a recon head?

Re: Seicento mpi head removal

Also fingers you were right about needing to do the compression test on no1 cylinder because of how the sparkplug looked :D

Can but would be nice to know all the valves and everything are sound and I'm not going to miss something that will cause a problem later.
Doesn't look like there's anything obvious that's wrong, but I'm no expert :)

No one is the first time! With the Cinq Haynes and people here, you'll be fine. Keeping it all in order is just down to using 8 labelled sandwich bags and counting the valves 1 to 8 from the timing belt end.

Magnet (for catching valve collets), metric feeler gauges and a valve spring compressor are the only special tools you need. Sellotape and a washing up bowl are handy!

After discussing it with a friend, hopefully he will help me. He's in the middle of rebuilding an old BSA or Enfield after the crank split in half.
We shall see what happens.
I know I always have great help from everyone on here :)
