Phone Unlocking Codes

hi everyone, just got a fone off my mate to use while i put mine in the shop, it wont work on vodafone though as it's locked onto o2, have looked into it on google and you can get 'unlock codes' which i know nothing about.

some shops wanting 25 quid for one of these 'codes'

is there nowhere i could find one for free on the net? (im really tight and skint lol plus it's not my phone) or are they specially generated like a one time use thing?

or if there are any other ways of doing it that would be great

oh yeh i think they do it on them barrows in the metro, didnt want to pay anything lol hopefully only using it for a few days, and no i can't do without my phone lol

u wont get it done for nowt, and i wouldnt trust any website handing out codes for cash!

just didn't know if you could get the codes on the net a bit like cd keys and that, found one site selling them for 4 quid
