Technical Petrol Gauge Won't Work

This has been bugging me for months now, I can get by without it but I was just wondering if it's happened to anyone else round here.

I have a punto 2b 53 plate Active 8v.

The petrol gauge shows zero all the time and ----- miles on the wee computer. Its constantly flashing. Ive tried a new pump, new spedo unit etc but nope. Anyone got any idea what could be wrong?

Forgive me for asking the blindingly obvious, but how about checking out the fuel tank sender to make sure it is reporting back ?

had a new pump......so must be wiring fault.

Where would I see a warning?


I got a new pump tested and that didnt work + i heard filling up your tank works to someone because their float got stuck but still no luck. I'm thinking it HAS to be the wiring but I dont know what to do tbh

I've traced the wires now and they are all fine. Everything seems to be fine .. I've decided to do an ECU reset, don't know if it'l work or not but I can only try I guess. Just gota wait an hour and see ...

ecu reset wont do anything? however I think it could be time for a dealer to check it as they can use active diagnosis.

Mine has the same problem.. No matter how much petrol I put in the Gauge ALWAYS goes down to zero.
