Technical performance problem

right this may sound strange but our car is too quick


we have had a tuning box fitted for about 3 months now and yesterday we had engine fault come up on the display for a second then it went off suspecting the usual fiat paranoid electrics ignored it few mins later my b/f pulled out to overtook a car put his foot down and the car took off like a rocket much faster than before .. is it possible this engine fault has upped the boost at all? nothing has gone bang (yet) and the car drives normaly untill pedal is pushed to the carpet then it flies ... my bf had a play with a friends new celica vvti 190 and hammered it so he is slightly worried something is going to go bang soon

what sort of bhp gain do you get with the tuning box?

On the plus side its good that it flys but i do undertsand your worrie!

My mate had a clio 182 sport, and his car catalytic converter was going and this apparently made a big difference to its power output and when he got it fixed, he then sold the car not long after as he said it was slower! How he found the problem was if he held the rev's at i think it was 4rpm when driving along he was hearing some noise - which obviously didnt sound rite! mite not be connect bu maybe a possiblitie to fink about! and the car was only just over a year!

could it be the engine is overboosting? perhaos a fault on the waste gate system. if its overboosting then get it checked ASAP as a bang is inevitable

i would say be very carefull and get it checked out asap!!! btw you had it rr'ed yet?

The tune box maybe at fault-say the box had a glitch or either it resetted it self or maybe switched to a different programe while ur driving that can make a warning light apprear.it may now run on a different programe which may reduce the life if left for a long time.
Id get the tune box looked at it shouldnt cost u owt for the company to have a look if u say it maybe at fault.

well been out in it today after it has been left over night and it seems normal got it RR'd just to make sure and its running 149.7 bhp which seems about right will keep my eye on it tho

was done at the racing line in halifax at 70 quid which is horrendus but it needed doing for pice of mind and they could do it there and then instead of waiting a week.. we have been looking into it and into the ecu it is a fault with overboosting i think i was lucky with my car's tuning box giving it the fueling for 145 bhp i dont think there was enough fuel there to blow the turbo
