i've just bought a new punto mk2b,i was woundering which rim size makes it look good without affecting the car itself ?
which tyers are the best ?
can anyone please help me deciding which is the best, with details & numbers ?

thanx alot

Depends 17" look the best but if you only got the 1.2 8v engine it will really stress the engine and drivetrain with the extra wheel size as it needs more torque to turn the wheels. If its only the 1.2 8v go for 15 / 16" it will be much better.

And as for tyres just go for the best you can afford. Toyo are good and reasonably priced, Kumo and Yokohama's are the same.

On my car which is the mk2b Sporting 1.4 16v I have 17" x 7.5(I think) OZ Supaleggera's with Falken Sport 205 45 R17 tyres :slayer:. Ignore my mates Seicento :p.

thanx chris .yes,in fact my car is 1.2 8v, but i'm still unsure which rim size exactly to buy & which tyre size also, cuz i have limited experience in that subject. i guess i'll lokk for the 15" unless the 16" price isn't much more expensive

TBH from looking around iv found that wheel companies offer better package deals on 15" and 17" than they do on 16" and often there is more choice in the 15" and 17" the design you go for can suit some colours and not others but its what you like not what others .........

I bought 15" rims with 195/50 tyres but the car now seems too high !
Is there any way to lower it other than changing the car's original coils ,since It is new & i dont wanna change it's original parts.
I dont wanna cut part of it too !
Sorry if look stupid but i was just woundering !!

gain some weight :)

Only real option is lowering springs, either 35mm or 50mm drop, unless you want coilovers.

Wouldn't worry about the car being new, just keep hold of the original springs if you ain't happy with the lowering

Hello again, the car looks so high but i still didn't do anything for that as i became busy these days, just wanted to send some pics of my car while i was installing the new rims & after that.whoever, when 3 persons sit in the back ,the tire "rubs" with the car's inside (exactly at the part where the rear bumper is fixed to the car, just above the tire) !! but i'm working on that!

so 17's are a bad idea on a 1.2 8v?
i thought if they were fitted with low profiles then the diameter of the whole wheel wouldnt change much
im getting alot of different opinions on getting 17s for mine :S

Point is its still bigger there is also alot more weight than original rims which means extra load on the diff and driveline components which will ultimatly mean BANG!.

My local fiat specialist said he gets at least 1 a week or so with a diff exploded because of oversized rims. This has actually made him keep stock of the parts lol. You really need a 16v'er to pull it off properly.

Hi there, i'm back again with the pics hosted in another site, still got the same problem;which is the RIGHT REAR wheel "rubing" to the inside of the car at the junction of the rear bumper with the body.
that happens only when 3 or more passengers are siting in it while passing over a speed hump even if it's small.
Although the car now looks pretty high without lowering coils ,but slightly heavy loads makes the car much more lower.
Now i'm wondering what's the best "uncostable" solution i can use....
i'm using 15" rims with 195/50 maxxis tyres
thanx alot ;-)
