Passenger door won't lock

I have a 2007 Bravo 1.9 MJet 150 Dynamic, unfortunately something has gone in the passenger door(possible the solenoid as there is no noise from the door when I lock the car) so it stays unlocked despite all other doors locking. Is there anyway I can prevent the door from being opened from the outside until I can get it seen to?

Really, only take off the door card and lock the door manually from inside the door ( then you can't put the door card back )

Car is booked into my local mechanic tomorrow, quite happy to use a salvaged part if needed but I would prefer a new part if possible so does anyone know the price of a new door lock mechanism from the dealer if it needs ordered?
