Any photos, messages, etc, that I get from Jim will be posted here. Hopefully I'll be able to keep you lot informed of there progress. I'm not sure how much they'll be online, but here's a few photos to start off with. Hopefully it won't be too eventful... :p

A scrub down for Sylvia before the off and the press photos.

I've also started a thread over on the NIIMC forum as well. Like Steve, I've no idea how much will be posted through to me but I'll nick stuff from here as well.

One of the Traffic Branch PSNI officers Father used to own a Fiat Panda, so this may have accounted for them being really up for the trip through the traffic. They seemed to be having as much fun as our guys. (y)

Thanks for that, Just arrived back a few minutes ago traffic was quite heavy and had a very slight problem with Willie (see below) other than that it has been a brilliant day and the PSNI were real stars, Jim was buzzing having the traffic stopped to let sylvia & willie through (y) we also met the mayor of Carrickfergus for photo's & lunch which was really nice. On returning to Cumbria I had a brief moment of horror with Willie when leaving the petrol station about 40miles from carlisle, the gearstick went all sloppy, turned out to be a 13mm bolt had decided it didn't want to go to Istanbul and just hopped off. Luckilly a spare was in the parts kit so a couple of min and off we went again good as new.

Will be leaving for Carlisle airport at about 7.30am to meet the BBC and a supprise Cumbrian Guest....

A couple more pics....

Jim's mileage at the hospice was 84385, it was up another 300 when we stopped, and there's a loooong way to go!

Our little meet was cool, had a chat and it seemed both Jim and Alan were ready for a rest! When we set off again I was expecting them to go reasonably slowly, meaning my mate Ben could get some pics on the road. No such luck, as soon as we were out they went flying down the road and I thought for a minute I wasn't going to catch up! So with my foot to the floor we finally caught up and got some good pics before jumping off the motorway! :)

Oh and when Jim and Alan came back out from the services a man came up behind them and handed Alan his car keys. Hahaha.

I left the guys and girls about 30 minutes ago, they should be in deepest Kent by now on the final leg for the Ferry. After that they just have a quick run to Paris tonight :D
