Hi All,

Came back from a weekend away to find some little **** has put my back windscreen through:mad:. As I am not fully comp, I don't have glass cover:bang:

Can anyone recommend a cost effective supplier to replace it, or have a glazed tail gate they are willing to sell on (pref in white). Quotes at the mo range from £75 to £115.

Thanks
Tom.

Tom, sorry to hear your news. I have a spare tailgate and if I can work it out OK may even have a white one. Send me a message if I can help. Cheers, David

Thanks all for your pledges of help and support.
Jon has come to the rescue, and sending me a screen over, so with any luck will be back up and running this weekend (y)

Just one thing though, to fit it I take it is the usual washing up liquid and a bit of string scenario, but is there anything I should look out for?

Tom.

The connections for the heated rear window go on the inside. ;)

Being flat it goes in easy. If using the original seal ensure all the glass is removed from its channel, slivers and all. I just used string and a second pair of hands to apply pressure to the glass as you pull the string and lip the seal over. Slow and easy is the key. When connecting the electrical connections use a bit of wood to press against the tag base on the window as you connect the electric tags.
Best of luck.

All fitted. Took me no time at all. Probably no more than 20 minutes :p
However getting the sticky glue from the brown tape my neighbour used to cover the broken glass off the body work took about 40 minutes  (Don't get me wrong I was greatful for his actions :)).

Thanks again to Jon for sending the screen, and thanks to everyone else who offered screens and tips for fitting :worship:

OK, having lived with the lack of working heater elements (only 1 bar ) for a few days (before the gearbox saga...) I have decided I need to try and get at least a few more mars working.
Looking at the screen, you can see where the breaks in the strips are. I vaguely remember some product that you can paint on to repair heated window elements, but have no idea what it's called or where to get it.

Does anyone know of, or have any experience with this type of product..?
