Hi guys, I’m currently in southern Spain on holiday and I picked up a petrol panda from the airport, we’ve had it a week and I have to say that it is an excellent car, it’s done 50,000km and presumably it’s fairly new, don’t think it’s the hybrid version as there’s no battery under the front passenger seat, but it’s a great driver, we are living in a property quite high up with pretty steep roads etc and the wee Panda just eats the gradients.
There’s a few wee scratches on the bodywork but nothing major it’s actually in pretty good condition for a four year old hire car inside it’s more or less spotless.
We’re paying just under £300 for the two weeks or actually €347 plus the hire company don’t take a credit card for the excess as the car comes with full insurance including breakdown cover. You just have to pay for the car hire with a credit card. I did buy excess insurance anyway before leaving the UK but it’s not needed only about £40 so I bought it for peace of mind.
I drive a 2023 Panda 4x4 back TA home in the UK and have to say that the hire car is every bit as good to drive only five forward gears though but getting in and out of gears is simple you hardly need to dip the clutch.
Just had a look at the documentation in the car it’s a 1.2 lounge 69 and I think it was manufactured back in 2020 but maybe registered or delivered in 2021.
Also had a look under the bonnet it looks a wee bit neglected to be honest pretty dirty in the engine compartment just dust though probably the dry climate could be doing with a clean though the hire company probably wouldn’t be interested in that I suspect.
