He put the hammer down at £2700 and it looked like it sold.

They still had it as unsold last night but I expect they got the deal done. Seemed a good buy at 2.7 then

I just checked the results page and it doesn't say sold. The reserve was probably £2800 and the auctioneer bid it up to £2700. (They are allowed to do that).

Yes, looks like you're right. I viewed the footage of the auction and it didn't look too convincing for a sale. So they didn't get a deal in the end. Tempting.

Now sold for 3450 + buyers premium. not a cheap buy then
