Car starts O.K. runs fine for two or three minutes then gets lumpy and emits white smoke. Smoke stops after half a mile 58000 on clock and sailed through M.O.T. last march. Any suggestions.

Few questions to ask...Car starts O.K. runs fine for two or three minutes then gets lumpy and emits white smoke. Smoke stops after half a mile 58000 on clock and sailed through M.O.T. last march. Any suggestions.

It runs smoothly for two or three minutes and then lumpy with smoke or vapour which clears after a short run
Can I ask if the little screwhole that's roughly about halfway across the black plastic part below the front wipers has ever been sealed (lift the bonnet to look)? It may seem a daft question but if it hasn't, rainwater can get into the airbox below and cause white smoke, loss of acceleration and lumpy running till the engine shifts the water. It will run fine then. Usually will take a few hundred yards.
