So I went on my holidays to Powys (worth a visit) where there are one or two hills. On one, Gerrard ran out of puff in third gear and so I had to change down to second, plus a lot of revs, to keep the car from losing speed further. That made the EML come on, although the car clattered over the crest and seemed to run fine despite the error.
I scanned the beast when I got home and got 4 codes:
No a/c system pressure (a hole in the condenser might have something to do with that one)
0235
0110
0236
I had a 0235 quite recently which I fixed by replacing the MAP back in July (old one was oiled up) and the EML disappeared by itself as soon as the new MAP was in there, so it’s a bit boring to see it immediately return.
This combo’ must have happened to someone already, so apart from checking the Wiring and tubing to the various senor/solenoid etc. what’s the answer?
Solenoid valve (Pierburg) and the MAF (Bosch) are just a few years but 97,000 miles old.
MAP sensor (Bosch) is brand new.
Car runs fine... though some boost seems to be missing... ?
The solenoid pipes are fine (checked during the recent clutch change).
I didn’t clear the 0235 when I swapped the MAP so that error may have been caused by the old one.. and so a red herring.
