OT. Phone Upgrade & N95 Vs 8GB Successor and TomTom

get the 8gig one as an upgrade then sell it on ebay. keep the old one and use the money you made selling the new one to pay your next years line rental.

Thats what i was thinking. Will probably sell it.

RE:

I also have the 8GB version.

I think its a pretty amazing phone. the 8GB is inbuilt so, obviously, you can remove it from the phone.

I do have to say the the AGPS (assisted GPS) is loads better on the 8GB then the normal one. Only takes me a minute if not less to get a lock now. I'v tried the tom tom software however i couldnt get it to pick up the builtin GPS however it worked ok with bluetooth gps.

I guess the biggest difference is a slightly bigger screen and a different colour! lol.

Well worth it though!:)

the agps is the same on both versions.. none is better that the other. just depends on the firmware version installed. my n95 clasic will lock on in under 30 seconds. but with the first firmware that was installed used to take about 1min before locked on.

Ade

well the phone came and its the n95-1 graphite, is this the new 1?

No, that's the Classic.

Wow i have the N-95 mk 1, and i have no idea what programmes u lot are on about, makes me wonder y i got the phone at all.lol. I use it for texting, phone calls and the occasional photos.
Think i need to have a play around with it now!!
I have accessed my BT home hub thru it once, but was frightened to do it again incase i got charged off either party.lol.

You do not get charged for WiFi access using your phone. You just pay your regular Broadband monthly fee to BT (or whoever you're connected with).

Many people think that using WiFi on a phone is akin to connecting up via 3G or GPRS. It isn't.

Feel free to roam and browse to your hearts content on your own network.

As for applications, there are loads. I have 20 or 30 games, tools like Blacklist, TomTom, Shozu, Google Maps, Tube2, Metro, DivX Player, Light Sabre, Mobitubia, Boopsie, Sports Tracker and many more.

Take yourself off to All About Symbian. They have a wealth of information on all Symbian based phones. They've even created a dedicated page showing the best apps available for the N95 range...

:)

BTW, to all other N95 users, v21 firmware has just been released on NSU :)

you dont happen to be "Lovesign" eh Roberto?

just an observation :)

Excellent Thanks.

Just a quicky, people with TomTom Nav 6, when your moving down a road for example and you get a audiable direction to turn does your TomTom sort of freeze until the voice has gone off and jump to the position your supposed to be at.

I've noticed this only with TT NAV6, TT5 was alot smoother and had none of these problems. I know the N95 isn't supported by TT but still is there a fix or an update.
