Lets have your latest productions then people.

Here's a DnB tune we've recently produced using reason rewired through cubase, good speakers required....

None of this jump up crap found on radiOHHH 1!!

Started using cubase as the main programme now and ****ed reason off as the sound quality isn't quite there.

Will have another one for you soon with an evil oppenheimer quote ;)

Anyone else got anything??

Not bad :)

I've gone the opposite way and ditched Cubase for Reason & Record. I've been using Cubase since the late 80's and since v5 back in the 90's, I got more and more frustrated with it. I seemed to spend way too much time setting the bloody thing up, whereas Reason can just switch on and go. No crashes, no compatibility issues, just an instant creative process.

Saying that, on some collaborations I've done just recently, we've rewired it into Cubase, only because the guy I work with uses it a lot. However, I've now convinced him that Reason & Record is a far better, and more complete package. If we need a VST host, we just use Reaper :)

But the bottom line is that everyone makes music differently, and everyone will favour one app over another that suits their personal workflow. I still knock beats out on MPC's but with the introduction of Kong into Reason 5, I can see that coming to an end too! ;)

Nice one.

The thing we find with reason is that the kind of sound we're after (i.e the drums) never has the same kick/clarity as what can be achieved with cubase.

Reason is good to use and if your running a 'not so powerful' computer it's far more stable than cubase which can be a nightmare from time to time.

You may want to give Reason 5 a go. The new Kong Module may just be what you're looking for in the drum department :)

And I know what you mean about stability. Since switching to Reason all those years ago, I truly cannot remember it ever crashing, yet I can still remember losing valuable work because Cubase (and for that matter, Live & Sonar) borked on me.
