Is there anyway to uninstall a previous version of Direct X?

When trying to install the latest version it goes through the process, but doesn't install anything.

WTF!!!

So if i want to get rid of this Microshaft FREE product i have to either pay for a program to remove it or format my HDD?

Daz

I think so, dont know for sure. Im not a Win user :)
Someone will have an answer thats more precise for U.

Just do a windows restore to the point before it was installed are you tring to install 9.0c or whatever the latest one is. Do you get an error message? you do know you have to restart your machine after?

Wiggy

There have been several items that have been installed in the meantime so unfortunatly system restore isnt an option.

No error messages.

I do realise you have to restart your PC, i am an IT manager after all ;)

It starts the install as normal, accept EULA agreement etc, but the install process takes less than a second and doesn't actually install anything.

"You've moved up the ranks, to same as me"

Looks like the only way is up from here then :)

Was waiting for that :p

It's okay Daz, your not the only one who can't believe I'm in the job I am.

All my mates think I'm lying about it. LOL :)

No skin off my nose. I know I'm at least twice better off than them at the end of each month! :)

When i first heard of all the things you used to get up to etc.. i thought you were a typical young knob end who thought he new everything.

Until i met you...i was very taken back, even shocked to see how sensible you were. (I actually asked a few people if you were the same Ian...lol)

So TBH i am not that suprised that you have turned it round the way you have and given yourself a good life and descent future.

Apologies if that sounds a little sad, but IMO its true. :)

No mate it doesn't. I understand where you was coming from and can imagine that you did ask a few people, lol.

The saying goes - Don't judge a book by it's cover. Does this apply to me? lol.

I can't express how overwhelemed I am to get this job, something I wanted to do, but was planning on being 22-23 at the time. Wanted to take a few years out first like, possibly travelling across Europe, or spending some time over in the US, but I couldn't say no to the job when it came around. It would of been stupid to turn it down.

Norton Ghost 2004 (v9) arrived this morning, so had loads of fun imaging systems at work and playing with network drives, oh the joy! lol.

Anyway enough of my job - Thanks for the compliment about how sensible I am. I've changed a lot since I first came here, and although first impressions usually last, that's just the way things are and nothing I can do about it! Hey not to worry.

Mind you - I still laugh at the fact that I'm on Sky 1 now and again for doing over that car.

Cheers mate:)
