Ducato Only connection to ECU?

Ducato Only connection to ECU?

Just to be sure I've ordered a Vgate Vlinker FD supported by MES to make sure this isn't caused by the Vgate I'm using, expected to arrive later this week. I've read up in eLearn on how the diagnostics work on this car:

The following are checked via the B-CAN line:
  • instrument panel;
  • radio unit;
  • Air Bag control unit;
  • parking sensor control unit.
The following are monitored via individual diagnostic K lines:
  • engine management control unit;
  • braking system control unit;
  • tachograph;
  • additional heater control unit (Webasto);
  • Servotronik control unit.

So the ECU (SRS) I'm trying to get to is on the 'standard' low speed Canbus.
Really strange I can only talk to the engine management control unit that's on a K-line.

Looking at the schematic I don't think anything is wrong with the electrics of the car, since many modules have their own seperate K-line straight to the OBD port... Well, at least that's what I understood after 30 min of reading. Didn't do much with CANbus since I worked on a Formula Student race car back in 2011...

So, reviving this topic, as I have an Airbag issue - I don't know what - and I need to get into the SRS ECU. I thought I'd go the Citroën way and ended up with a cheap clone of a Lexia3/Diagbox adapter and another cheap clone of a special adapter to make the PSA software talk to the Fiat...
So I confirmed with the guys from MultiEcuScan that the Jumper is fully identical to the Fiat Ducato and that it should work. Still, I can only get the Bosch ECU detected. For connecting with the SRS ECU, I don't need the special (green) adapter. I'm still using the iCar Pro Vgate which is recognized by MES as an ELM327 compatible adapter. To make sure, I'll be ordering an officially MES compatible adapter. But if anyone can advice me on this topic I'll be listening.
(Btw, I did try to scan it like a Fiat Panda and I think I insulted it ;):D)

On my 2017 Ducato I think I had to use the Yellow adapter when my airbag module failed.

Thanks for your reply but yours is a X290, there's quite a bit of difference in the wiring I believe (and electronics). Even after 11/2007 they're is a separate chapter in eLearn for the X250 model. For the X250 there's a green adapter but you don't need it for most of the modules. I got it from the MES site here. The X290 needs the yellow one for some modules like the airbag. I believe it's to rewire some of the propietary pins to the right ones... I can't access eLearn for the X290 online (there's a login screen) anyway mine should be on the pin 6-14 standard Canbus.

Not sure if this will help at all, but my 2015 3.0 ducato is an x250 with some x290! It can be seen in eLearn as x250 euro 5...

Problem was the dongle. The Lexia was a cheap clone and I didn't get the 'conversion module'. The iCar Pro doesn't work on this model. You need a Vlinker FS or similar.

I have a 2011 x250. For my daily car I was using a cheap bluetooth ELM interface, it can also read FIAT's CAN, but as the OP's one, only engine ECU.

I've bought a FIAT / FORD (STN 1170) dedicated bluetooth interface and it connects to all modules in the FIAT without any additionnal interfaces required.
