Problem is, if everyone sniped, more reverses would have to be set etc. I snipe, I am sure people with half a brain usually do. A lot of people who don't snipe simply bid just so that they remember they are after it. One good technique - not particularly great with rare items like this - is to search for whatever you want, say, "car speakers" then set to "buy it now only" then "newly listed". This way you will find any buy it now bargains. I got a second hand Panasonic HiFi worth £350 new (cheapest sold on ebay for £100) for £25 + £10 postage just by luck. If i hadn't had noticed it quickly I would never have got it because it would have been snapped up easily. DOne it a few times now with various items. I get a lot of stuff from ebay (poor student...) and would never have 1/10 of the superficial stuff I have in my life if i didn't use ebay. One thing I am not too short of is time and hence that is why I can often do well on it.

I share the Custard Boy view on this, I really would have my eyes closed!
