Once again...

...a question about door handles!
Can someone be kind enough to explain how i do this?
I've had a look at the repair manual on here, and have an idea of how to remove the handle etc, but i have no idea what i'm going to do about the whole paint side of things!
My car is a 1.6 Bravo Reflex Green colour i think it's called, so can someone tell me if i have to spray or paint the handles? Another thing is...can i get the right colour straight from cans from Halfords, or do i get from somewhere online etc?
Never done anything like this before, so i really am quite clueles.

1stly u will need to spray the handles. Rub them down first to remove ant previous paint and thoroughly clean them.
You will then need a couple of caots of plastic primer. Leave 24 hours between each coat and rubbing down with 1200/2400 grit paper.
Then a couple of coats of your paint. Look in the yellow pages for a paint specialist in your area. He will need your paint code which is supplied on the boot of your car (little sticker)
Once the paint is doe a couple of coats of laquer will also be needed for a strong finish.

OK, 1stly, if you're gonna paint the handles, you cannot paint the black standard Bravo ones, they're rubber and the paint will flake off immediately. You have to get Marea paintable ones (be warned- if you just ask for normal Marea ones you'll get the same rubber ones the Bravo has.

If you've got the handles, then you'll need to either get them sprayed profesionally, or get a can of spraypaint yourself. You won't find your colour off-the-shelf (even if you do- avoid like the plague- the spray pattern is hopeless) but go to a larger Halfords and they'll mix a can for you. You can find the paint code inside your boot, up next to the latch.

I think the marea handles look best if you file off the groove that runs down the middle.

Thanx Wimmy n Ben for your replies I really didn't know it was going to be that much work involved(or am i just lazy??)

A mate of mine had her front bumper put on and sprayed for 80 spots. I can't imagine that your handles would be more than than 50. I should imagine you could get them painted, plus your bump strips and mirrors colour coded for around this price as they mix paint in batches.

I'm probably wrong...
