General OLD Fiats you've owned??

I have owned a few in the last 20 years. I had:

69 124
79 124/2000 spider. They had so many names
75 X19

and my current 61 1200 convertible. A nice slow restoration. Sitting high on dollies.

hi, relatively new to the site, and i don't usually bother with this type of
what have you owed.
As i read the threads, the memories started flooding back, good and bad.

So hoping not to miss any here goes.

FIAT 125s it had the 5 speed box 1608cc, yes it rotted but what a first car.

Fiat 124s 1400cc ,was a good un too till someone hit it when parked up.

131 mirofiori 1600,est with a huge wabasto? full pull back roof.

strada 65, enough said on that.

132, 2.0 litre, had two one for spares, that spare car lasted longer!

regatta 85ds, brilliant work horse.

uno 60s, v/cheap and the reason we have come back to FIAT.

Fiat marea 100td, long sorry expensive tale that one was.

I'm sure i've mist one or two the the connection goes on.

lancia prisma 1600.

dedra turbo... what a car.

thema 16v, suprisingly brilliant, and still local to my area.

y10 fire...sorry

Alfasud 1500 gold clover.

guiletta 1800 better car than people would have you think.

Alfa 156 2.4 jtd..... just gone, but am believing that divorce would have been
a better idea than letting her go.

We now have a y reg punto 1.2 sporting.

I once owned a Fiat 850 Coupe, what a lovely little car (in it's day), I'd probably hate to drive it now..... Here is a pic of it. As you can see it had a few extras fitted, Cosmic alloy wheels, Carelli spot lights, air horns and a rear wing! Actually the wing was on when I bought it and I later found out that this was causing the engine to overheat as the airflow was being directed away from the vents on the rear engine cover lid! Having said this I used to cover many miles in the car and only once did it let me down, a rear shock absorber bolt came off on a long journey and the shock broke loose which made for interesting handling....

First Fiat I owned was a 1982 131 Supermirafiori 2000TC. That was a nice car when i was only 18! A few years later, after gaining loads of points on my licence, i had a 5 door Uno 60s, which was then given to the mother in law. The wife now owns a mint 97 Cinq Sporting in Yellow with ony 50k on the clock.

I have never owned a Fiat (i've never owned a car, too young to drive(n) , i'll have to wait till next year for my first car (y) )

Anyway...my Dad owned a dark red Fiat Uno 45 that he bought brand new in 91'. We had it up until around 98', never had one problem with it (gave it to my nan who after a week sold it  ). My uncle also had a Fiat Uno in around 92', a black 45 i think.

Both were fantastic cars !

Crikey - where do I start?

Actually it all started back in the 60s when my parents bought a grey 1500L - styled I think by Farina. Then there was a 1500 standard saloon (you can still see the same body shape in the Balkans).

Well and truly bitten now, a brace of 124ST (1400cc and 1600 respectively) were followed by a 132 1800cc and my brother and I jointly owned a 1600cc version - registration NEW 132M - which came from Ouse valley motors in Huntingdon. Up to that point Big Brother had been driving a blue 500L.

I parked the 132 at some speed in the back of a Landrover due to my youthful exuberance (read stupidity). It did get fixed, but I moved on to a 500 (DBN 161C) with suicide doors. I loved that car, and still think that it was as quick on the twiddly bits as my current fiat, a 20V Turbo Plus coupe (well, probably not, but it was a riot to drive!).

The girlfriend (now my wife of 29 years) had a trio of 127s and a 126, whilst I moved on to a 128 in which I did 29000 miles in under 12 months - all flat out as I remember.

Since then other manufacturers have tempted me with their wares but there have always been Fiats in there somewhere, from the 131 Estate that you could only get into by climbing in through the tailgate (with wife 6 months pregnant not good...) to the 500 that I restored for my eldest daughter.

I now have settled for the Coupe - and daughter No2 bought a Punto 1.2 16V at the weekend.

If anyone out there has a 124 ST, a 124 Coupe or a 128 3P that needs a bit of love and not too much welding, I have a big space in my workshop just ready for it!

Oh - I forgot. We had a couple of diesel Regattas too. Never did less than 50MPG either of them.

I have 1991 , Fiat 126p , 0.9 engine .
Bilstein suspension, disc brakes , about 55 hp engine , and many many more changes:)

I had a B plate [1984?] Strada Cabrio, with Abarth bumpers and grille/lights, steering wheel and gearknob. Car was black but was originally an awful chocolate colour

It was a 1.5, it had exhaust from an Abarth, it was an amazing sound especially when cold

However, the roof was like a sieve when it rained, water leaked in over the top door seals, A post door seals. But in the sun, it was a great car, it seemed really fast, good braking, sidelights for some reason would not switch off unless engine wasnt running.

theres a few pics in Ritmo part of the FF

Didnt have it long, and swapped it for a more sensible 1600 Sierra, twice as rusty, twice as slow.

I always remember when I was a nipper, my Dad used to hire cars when we went on holiday in the UK, and they were always Fiats, 127, Strada, Mirafiori, I used to love them :)
