Been told my oil sump is leaking... person who sold it to me did a bodge job and covered it in the heat wrap used on exhausts... so oils been disappearing but absorbing into it, just today realised that its come away so now leaving puddles where ever i park... anyone know how much it is and how easy it is to fix yourself?? Any help is appreciated!! :(

ahh right okay :) thanks :)
I was told it was a fairly expensive job if you can't do it yourself, guess my haynes manual will once again come into use!

Haynes will tell you how hard it is ;)

Also the Punto's DONT use a Seal, you need to use sealant - shop 4 parts have the correct one should you need it

I too seem to be loosing a lil out the sump - its a common wear and tear item after 10years really

i use standard granville black sealant in a caulking gun about £5 a tube max
local factor wanted nearly $20 for an approved sealant
watch you dont break the plastic pickup for the oil
its not a 19 minute job to take the sump off if you arent used to it so give yourself a full day
leave the sealant to harden overnight
price for a sump off the bay is very competative
