Technical Oil Pump

Happy New year...

In jacking up my Grande Punto 1.4 petrol yesterday I accidentally caused some damage to the sump, which is now slightly concave. Since then I have a red oil warning light so am assuming I have somehow damegd the oil pump as there is also some smoke now coming from the engine, so I have turned it off immediately. There is no oil leak and otherwise the car is mechanically fine. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to fix and any idea on what this would cost please?

You've probably damaged the oil pickup pipe at a start both the sump and oil pickup would have to be replaced and then hope no other damage has been done to the engine
that being said why is your jack anywhere near the sump to jack the car up?

Thanks..was having a look see for the first time..learnt the hardway...assuming what you have said was the case what would the cost be ballpark?
