Technical Oil consumption

Hi everyone, I'm new bee here .
I have Fiat 500l mpw 1.3 multijet.
Currently 92k miles on the clock
I've service it myself and i think it drinks a bit of oil . I don't know if it's normal, but I've tried with 5/30 last time and lost quite a lot . I've been advised to try with 10/40 semi sintetic which I've already done . Currently I've done about 2000km and I top up like 150ml of oil . Is that normal ? Or i defo need to take it to a mechanic

What engine do you have? Euro 5 or Euro 6? Your manual should state exactly the spec you need. Viscosity is one thing, but spec is another. In my Euro 6 Fiat 500L I am using 0w30, for instance.

Ive had three of those engines in 75bhp form.. 2007/8

They had no noticable consumption
(Most of my FIATs have been very good..)

Ist thing to check is oily patches around the engine... leaks..!!

Then suspicion would fall on the turbo

BUT...... Do check you are not overfilling!!

HI mine it's 1.3 euro 6 , I was using 0w30 but I've already done 100k miles

100k covered.. my Grande Puntos had covered that.. its not a reason for problems

Many of these do 250/300 before a chain failure means they are uneconomic to continue
