It's been somewhat interesting today: I have got my BB connection up and running and made £20 :). But making that money wasn't so much fun.

I had to go into work to sort some papers on my day off. On leaving my work today I saw a kid down next to my car having taken my silver dust caps and busy tryin to pinch my interesting hub caps. So I politely stopped and asked him to stop and could I have my dust caps back. He refused and took off across the car park, and I duly followed. Then the lucky lad ran straight into the arms of an off duty policeman :D. Who restrained him and asked him to return the dustcaps to me. He gave me back 3 out of the 4 he had taken then started saying some other lad had taken them and given them to him and crying his eyes out. Parents then turned up and started having a go at me and policeman for stopping his thieving, then we started rowing in the car park so uniform backup came and half the town came to watch! Sorry to say but totally pikey family, I mean what were they doing letting their seven year old wander the streets of an evening? The pikey family then started claiming police brutality because he had restrained the kid and it's now turned good people of the town vs. pikeys. Anyway, pikey dad gave me £20 for the trouble and I have said thanks. On the downside I will be parking in a different car park and making my car a little less conspicuous for a few weeks :(.

Sorry that's so long ;)

Oh well, at least your BB connection is up and running at long last :)

What amazes me is that you mention an off-duty policeman? I thought they were ALL on sabbatical, or something ;)

Long last? Only 9 days since I first enquired about it, 8 days since I ordered which I think is quite impressive ;). Dave that's one hell of an idea if the pikeys start picking on me :D. I think I will be the town gossip for the next few days :(

ETA: I forgot to mention the police complaints bods will probably be around to see me regarding the police brutality thingunless the parents decide to call it off in the cold light of day. Think it's a bit much all for a few dust caps but it's the principle of the thing - as the cop says he's running wild, nicking little things now, in 10 years he'll be nicking cars :(
