Technical Oh crap. help!

Just fitted my k and n air filter and it makes a sssssssssssss noise (quite loud!) like an air leek. What the hell is it coz it doesnt sound right. My m8s sounds completely different (without the air noise of course!)

Please help.

are you sure the filter is on properly

Is yours really loud? Its not quite as loud when the bonnets down, but my m8s makes no noise like it, apart from when revving!

mine doesnt make much of a noise until i rev it

i havent really paid much attention to the noise really, if everything is where it should be then there shouldnt be a problem

Have you followed the instructions to the letter, there isn't an open end of a hose drawing air in somewhere is there?

Compare it hose for hose against your friend's one.

Nope! All fitted perfectly, but sounds like a split hose somewhere.

On t'underside of t'airbox, there are 2 connections, one black and one brown. The black one is attached to the ATS (Air Temp Sensor), and that should come off when yu take all the airbox and that guff off (its attached to the horn bracket using 2 x 10mm bolts).

The brown one goes to the back of the TB and forms a rather important part of the induction system - presumably part of a feedback loop

Its ok, i fixed it for him. It wasnt a perfect seal around where the hoses went into the bottom of the filter. Not the right size hole!

Oh yeah, meant to put that :bang: . Its the other end of that pipe thats on the TB
