Hi guys,
Some of you might be aware of my passion about a musical art form called "bootlegging" or "mashups". This is where remixers get hold of some tracks and throw them together to form something quite new and different.
If you remember the Nirvana Vs Destiny's Child "Smells Like Teen Booty", then you know what I mean. Another example is the recently much talked about "Grey Album", where DJ Danger Mouse mixed vocals from Jay Z's Black Album with tunes from The Beatles White Album to much critical acclaim.
Well, I belong to an online community of "bootleggers" called Get Your Bootleg On (http://gybo.proboards4.com) and we've had a project running these past few months to pay tribute to the 25th Anniversary of "London Calling" by The Clash. I'm hoping that it's not just oldies like me, Tafi, Patrick and Nige that remember The Clash and how important they were
Anyway, the project is now complete and the new album, "London Booted" is available for free download. There are 19 main tracks, each a mashup of the original Clash track, and six bonus tracks, too good to be omitted. You will also find top quality artwork there too.
Please visit http://www.culturedeluxe.co.uk/londonbooted.htm and check it out. This is a totally free project, but we'd love you to make a donation to any one of the three charities listed at the top of the page
