General OBD2? buy or not to buy

As i am having ABS problems at the moment i have been wondering if to buy an OBD2 diagnostic scanning tool

does anyone have any previous experience with either a control verson or a USB + software type tool??

cheers mate i will have to get myself a K-line cable (KKL, VagCom)

You know how to find out what connections i need for my HGT so that it works properly?
