after a cheap but deacent laptop to brouse the net listen to music i dont really d/l stuff. can anybody recomend a deacent one for a few hundred quid with wireless capabilty that does this cheers

i find that rather derogetry tbh mate they are doing there best to earn a living, not everybody is fortunate to have a well paid jod are they.


i find the service at pc world second to none where i live i dont know about anybody else.

bit harsh rob at the end of the day they are only doing a job. however the best deals to be had will be on the internet ie dell etc etc

on one note it took me over 12 months to get a credit from DSGI (aka pc world business) for 30 quid and they were cra9 over the phone.

And yes, our products are overpriced, and our after sales service is ****e. But that's not the staff's fault to be fair.

cheers, that one on dell doesnt tell me if its got wireless plus when ive clicked it it goes to the bigger screened one at more money. could you tell me if the acer ones are any good

from looking at them in store, i would say the acers are quiet sturdy, they just tend to look abit dull with their grey layout.
I personally have a Dell M1330, which i got new from ebay (as it was still cheaper than 'pissy world' even with staff discount).

Generally most brands are good, after all they dont make the bits inside, other companies do. MSI, intel, etc. So the brand doesnt make much difference in my eyes.

As an IT teacher working in a technology school, I would avoid Acer. Just our experience, and we do use and abuse them in school, but we had a lot of problems when we had Acer laptops. We have now gone to Toshiba, if you can pick up a decent Tosh, there are some cheap ones out there, it will last you and hopefully give you no problems.

I have a Samsung R40 which I find is brill!!

Kate has an Acer and it's shocking!!!


My samsung is abused due to the working conditions & never sat in an office for very long.
