Technical None Starting JTD 105

Anyone got any ideas why my sons W reg JTD105 has developed a hot starting problem. It is failing to start until its cooled down for 30/40mins. he`s getting so frustrated with it he leaves it running with a friend in it while he goes into Tesco to do his shoppin.

The ignition sensor is faulty or sends faulty readings to the ECU when it gets hot.
