Technical Noise Shifting into Gear - Automatic

As I try to navigate through the myriad of issues my Fiat seems to have, I came across another curious problem that I can’t seem to figure out. When I shift from park into any gear and back I hear an unsettling screech or squeal. I tried to record it here…..



Any ideas everyone?

Hi, did you manage to get to the bottom of this?
My 09 automatic is doing the same- it’s really loud when driving and hates going into reverse. The whole car ‘clunks’.
Just had the solenoid transmitter replaced at a garage but have had to take it back as this hasn’t solved the problem (just left me with a massive bill…)

Hi all

Just like to clarify

The Mexican built US models are an Automatic

The Italian build UK models are a manual gearbox and a 'robot ' works the clutch and gears

Totally different to fault find..

Always worth scanning the Body computer AND gearbox for error codes and wear parameters before going to a Dealer of specialist
