General Noise coming from steering wheel.

It sounds like a small angry frog is trapped in my steering wheel when it returns to the central position from turning right.
I assume I don't have a small angry frog?

I've not noticed any deterioration in the power steering, I assume if it was broken I'd suddenly feel much heavier.
I think the PS fluid is fine, but I'm not 100% car savvy, assumed it was the only unlabelled top up spot under the bonnet. That one looked full (it wasn't the engine oil, water, washer, or brake fluid. I know those).

I'm driving a 2007 Fiat Diesel Multijet, it, at 138,000 miles.

This car makes lots of odd sounds now and then, no one can ever seem to find out why.

The power steering is electric, probably something catching but its very hard to say could be coming from the rack or much higher up keep an ear on it is about as much as I can say

That'd be my take on this also.

Quite likely a piece of trim rubbing against something that's rotating when the wheel is turned.

Could it possibly be anything to do with the intermediate shaft? I’ve seen a few ppl on YouTube having weird noises mainly knocking and swapping one doesn’t look terribly difficult if your that way inclined

Just a thought … maybe worth getting up close to it while turning the wheel?
