Off Topic No red bit on the tachometer?

I always thought all cars had these...

I remember James May once saying something like "Small Italian cars were made to rev the engine and keep revving until nuts and bolts start falling off - THEN you change gear"

Just wondering if this is anything to do with that, or should my GP have it on there?

Should be changing before you get that high, power would have dropped off by then anyways.

The fact that you want an LED to tell you when to change gear?

The car already has a wonderful feature built in; when you hear the engine screaming at you because you're doing 60mph in second gear, it's probably time to change up.

punto was 65 before it died,
its alot less that 60, the car moves is all i know atmo

My Panda MJ doesn't have a redline. Without it, it looks as if you could rev it to 8,000 rpm. You can't, obviously, because the rev limiter would cut in before you do too much damage.

I think this is down to economy as all different Panda models can use the same tacho.

Years ago some cars had a yellow/orange sector before the red. Can't think why.
