i drove the van from home to the local train station 8 miles return journey, parked up and now i have no electrics at ignition or lights indicators ect. is there a main fuse? i cant find one. all the fuses are ok and battery is fully charged up.
ive looked at all the wiring and everything seems ok no sign of loose wires ect the caravan electrics are ok can any one sugest anything to do or try ?
thanks
my van is a 1991 fiat 2.5 td

I think I might know this one!
Its a mk1, fuse box in the back of the glove box??
The bridge across the live side of the fuses broke down on mine.
If you pull the fuse box out (2 screws) you'll see the back is a mass of Lucar (spade) connectors. If you can get some female lucar connectors make up 2 short jumper wires & bridge round the back of the first 3 fuses on the RIGHT.
The fault should go away.
PM me if you want more info or I can send you some jumper wires ;)

i have taken the front out of the dash ie-the speedow and uncoupled the cables and wires the ignition switch itself has tested ok, what i have found from testing each wire the brown permanent live feed to the ignition is intermitent but why i dont know. so i took a live from the hazard waning light switch back to the ignition and into the brown and the van started up.
all i have to do now is trace the brown wire back through the loom to the battery or where it picks its live feed from and replace it or cure the fault of supply.
at least getting somewhere.

I had a similar problem on a 1998 td (except the fuel solenoid cut out as well:eek:) and eventually traced it to a burnt connector which was intermittently failing (usually when I used the indicators) This was in a white 4-way block in the loom over the drivers side wheel arch

all fixed and back together thanks for all the help to all who replied
still didnt find the cause run a new fused cable from the battery to the ignition switch to make brown live.
just see how it goes
