Hi!

I have been thinking about a Panda for a while, and liked the look of a 2014 1.2 Pop. It had a good service history so I paid a deposit.

I remembered I didn't ask about the cambelt. Am I right to think if the car is over 5 years old it should be done. The car has done 33,000 miles so I think this is within the mileage allowed on a cambelt?

At the time I was viewing, the salesman on the forecourt said "whatever needs doing would be done", but now I have paid a deposit they are saying they can do the cambelt for a charge. There is no evidence it has been done, no receipt no job sheet.

I feel a bit let down, and don't want to spend £200+ on maintenance on a car I've just bought. I may as well buy privately.

I'd appreciate any opinion on this, thanks, Martin.

Hi Martin

Panda..or punto.. similar engines

What is the service history of the car.. if the brake fluid and coolant have been performed in their 2 / 3 year window then the coolant pump should be less likely to fail and take out the cambelt

What kind of deposit did you make..?

Im assuming car is circa £3.5k

Charlie
