Hi Guys

Just purchased an 04 Reg Stilo 1.9JTD to keep my Baby 500 company,

to take a bit of the strain of the 500 which has built up almost 4000 miles in its first month, figured a cheap work horse run around and the Stilo fit the bill.

Few little electrical faults. Just looking to see if anyone has come across these and found easy solutions

1: When Switching on PREHEAT FAULT comes up on Dashboard, but car starts fine from cold. Wondering if this is a warning fault rather than a glow plug failure?.

2: Boot Open warning Light and message on even though its not. Is there a sensor that checks this, the boot light goes on and off correct so that one is working

3: Passenger side rear door, opens from the inside but not outside, is there nornally something in the mechanism that breaks that can be checked with the Door trim off/.

4: CD Multichanger is flashing green/red and just stays on Check Disc

All these faults were disclosed at purchase and factored into the price so not upset about it at all, just thought Iwould try and pick some of the great user experience here before tearing stuff to bits.

Really please with the car, only picked it up yesterday, but nippy little beasty with a great spec. Look forward to spending some time over here now rather than on the 500 board

Cheers

Vicky

1 Buy,steal or borrow an OBD2 reader ebay about £30 it will pay for itself and easy to use aswell
Will Have a look for one, will this do the service indicatior as well!?

2 use the search it's a common fault on the stilo-adjust it
CHEERS THOSE INSTRUCTIONS AND A SCREWDRIVER SORTED IT

3 sounds like you have a stuck dead lock- door card off have a look
Will have the card off tomorrow, the Central Locking stick does not go down on that door either, so hope its a simple disconnect.

4 Have a look at this it sorted my cdc out well worth a try
Yes gave it a few prods and its started working although the discs are still sticking in the mechanism a lot. May just be at the end of its useful life!
