Well I finally took the plunge and got my pre-reg 1.2 Active in metallic steel grey. So far so good apart from the cigar lighter and more importantly the hand book are missing. I called the dealer and he promised to put them in the post last night; time will tell! :)

Does anyone else find the foot well very cramped? I take a size 9 shoe which must be pretty standard; when I use the brake the tip of my shoe hits the housing above the pedals which is driving me mad! I have tried the seat in different positions and heights but it still happens. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you overcome it?

same probs here m8. its because the car was designed as left hand drive.

Yeah, when you look at pics of a LHD the footwell is much better, with a left foot rest.

Nice one on your new car ;)

Yes I miss my foot rest, my feet haven't felt cramped like this in ages :(

All the Fiats I have owned have never had this problem :(

I'm getting on fine so far. I actually find it better driving whilst wearing trainers rather than my shoes, maybe it's because they are steel toe capped that they cause the problem. I have to say though, I have owned many Fiats over the years and this one has the most cramped footwell :(

I had my alarm fitted on Saturday which has upgraded me to Thatcham Category 1. Ended up getting a complete new system rather than having the one from my Bravo re-fitted. [:0] I didn't know how to use the deadlocks until the alarm fitter explained them to me! :) Let's hope the dealer has posted the handbook, I guess there's loads of other stuff I won't know about until I get the book!

The car doesn't have one rattle which really surprised me, I was used to all the rattles, knocks and squeeks in the Bravo. It's also very quiet on the road, passengers say it feels like gliding on air!

Even though it's the same engine as my Bravo I have to say it feels more powerful, but I guess thats because there was an engine management / tuning problem with the Bravo.

Anyway, so far so good, guess I better get ready for work!

Don't worry it will soon develop some rattles and squeeks, but only just! And they will only occur after the car has been back in the dealer for repairs!

1.2 is very quiet at speed though eh! I was expecting it to sound a bit strained trying to maintain decent speeds, but just isn't the case! :) Tell me how you get on with economy? Wait until you have a bad day and decide to give it some juice, fair picks up its skirts, and doesn't even hammer the mpg too much!:p

53 plate, Stilo 3-door, Sassy grey, Alloys to follow, 1.2 Active, 5-Disc CD-Changer -- 45mpg!
