Hello Good People.

I was about to change the spark Plugs on my Cinquecento 899c 98 and noticed the new spark plugs (the ceramic bit) are bigger in length than the original that are in, but the tread is exactly the same (as you can see on the pics and the new one fits perfectly in the spark hole, same with the HL cable.. Connects and clicks.

My question is can I still replace them? as the tread (the part that stays inside the engine) is the same size as the old ones?

Thank you very much everyone.

I think your old plugs are BKR6E, but your new plugs are BPR6E.

BPR6E is what NGK list for the 899 engine.

Gap @ 0.7mm

You are exactly right! The old ones are the BKR6E and the new ones are the BPR6E.

Everywhere i look in the forum and internet it all says to a tread of 19 and a outer tread of 14 which are the ones I've ordered..

Do you think someone might have inserted the wrong ones before?

Believe is safe to put this new ones (BPR6E)?

Thank you again.

Your new ones are correct, so yes they are fine to use.

Check & set the gaps before fitting.

I've ordered the 0.7 gap (they came pre gaped) with the cardboard cylinder protector on the gap, but i will check them anyway.

Thank you again, i really appreciate it.

Just one more question, would this difference in size from the old ones (the wrong ones) that were installed in my cinq explain why there was a little drip of ~ 1 mm of oil on the tip of the spark gap?

No, the only difference is the size of the hex for the plug spanner .
Well done changing those plugs they are truly worn out.

I really appreciate your help! I know they really are.. Wonder even if they are the factory ones.. ?.. Unsure if fiat used NGK as factory plugs.. ?
